Braces, in combination with wires and bands, are the most common appliance used to correct orthodontic problems. Other appliances may also be used depending on your treatment needs

Braces do not typically hurt; however, some discomfort may be experienced after the braces are initially placed or after certain adjustment appointments.

Appointments are scheduled according to your individual treatment needs. After appliances are placed, most patients are seen every 6-8 weeks.

Yes! A protective mouthguard that fits over your teeth and braces should be worn during any activity that may result in injury to the teeth or jaws.

Yes! You should continue to see your family dentist for regular checkups and professional cleanings while wearing braces.

The majority of orthodontic patients are treated without extractions; however, some malocclusions are best treated by removing teeth. After preforming a comprehensive analysis, Dr. Berco and Dr. DeLuca will recommend the best treatment to optimize your long-term oral health, oral function, dental esthetics, and overall facial balance.

Some hard and sticky foods, such as chewing gum and caramel, should be avoided as they may damage your orthodontic appliances. Once your braces are placed, we will review the list of foods and habits that should be avoided while wearing braces.

Effective and cosmetically pleasing treatment options are available. We offer clear (ceramic) braces, hidden (lingual) braces, and clear aligner (Invisalign) therapy.
